Replacing the fog lamp bulbs aren't too difficult.
What you'll need: Small flat head screwdriver - To remove the fastener that holds in the splash guard below the lamp Stubby Phillips screwdriver - To remove the 3 screws that hold in each bulb Ramps - You may be able to do this w/o ramps but it will make it harder. After the car is on the ramps and the e-brake secure, you'll have to drop the plastic splash shield below the lamp. (Work on one side at a time in case you need to see how something goes back together) As pictured below there is one fastener to pop out. It's one of those that you pull the center out about a 1/4" or so then pry the whole thing out. I tried to show this in the one picture. These can be confusing till you've removed them a few times. Once the fastener is out, pull down the plastic to give yourself enough room to access the back of the lamp housing. Take notice how the bulb is oriented because you'll have to put the new one in the same way. The bulb is held in place with 3 flat head screws. It's tricky to see them at first. Remove the screws with a stubby Phillips screwdriver. The bulb will then come straight out, no twisting or turning. Remove the bulb form the harness by pressing on the tab shown and pulling. Put the new bulb in making sure you have it located just like the one that came out. I found it easier to put in the bulb then tighten the screws before plugging in the harness. Next put the splash shield back in place and pop the fastener back in, make sure the center pin is out a little before putting it in the hole, then push the center home to lock it in place. Double check to see that the splash shield is in place properly. I noticed the inner part tended to hang up a little. Compare it with the other side if you are unsure. Now do the other side and you are done. Peaty 11/30/02
