Cool Bov

I'm looking to get a blow off valve pretty soon. I liked the blitz but when i saw the price and the adapters i needed to buy, i realized i didn't like it that much. What i really wanted to know is does anyone have any recommendation? I know there's alot out there and most are faily the same. I don't want to spend over 3 bills for one though. Any advice, recommendation or thought would be helpful. thanks.

I have heard somethings about the GFB(Go fast bits) BOV. I havent heard much, other than its a direct bolt on, and that its pre-set for the WRX. This sounds like the easiest way to go with out having to worry about welding. As for the performance of the part, Im sure someone else can chime in with that advice

On the WRX, the BOV does nothing for you other than to add sound. Dyno proven by Vishnu. If you want sound, get one. If you want performance, stick with the stock one.

Really. I thought it would give You safer turbo operation if nothing else. I guess the question would be now, is, are you going to take a performance Hit from a BOV?

It's all about the management system.
You can add all the intake and exhaust systems in the world, but unless you add something like a Unichip, you really won't utilize all the power advantages those add-ons can provide.

So a BOV by itself is just a waste of money. But if you are also going to get a Unichip, even at some later time, then it's a good idea.

then why doesn't vishnu sell a BOV with any of their stage 0 or 1 kits?

Perhaps Vishnu thought the stage 1 already cost enough.

I also haven't seen anyone else say anything about that larger hose coupling mod, which is very cheap. So you can't have 100 percent trust in everyone else's research.

The BOV allows the turbo to continue to run normally "across" shifts. A better BOV will improve reliability and performance and as far as I've seen it's one of the cheaper mods, so why not?

I thought the purpose of a BOV allowing quicker turbo spool up between gear changes and increased the life of the turbo. I just figured that an aftermarket one would be better than stock b/c in most cases, aftermarket is usually better than stock. I was looking at getting one, probably the TurboXS one, but if it really doesn't do anything but add sound, then there's not really a point in getting it...
