Driving Lights

This mod allows you to drive around without your lights on all the time. It takes about 5 minutes to complete and it is just something that doesn't need to be there in my opinion.

The hardest part about this mod is contorting your arms enough to remove the nuts that hold the bracket onto the strut tower.

Remove the two half turn screws that hold the plastic cover on. This is the cover between the airbox and the passenger side strut tower. If you look straight down through all of the exposed electronics you can see what looks like a giant silver tic-tac. This unit has a plastic wiring plug on the bottom of it and a bracket that holds it onto the car. You can reach down (harder than it sounds) and unplug the wiring harness then you remove the screws.

You know you have the right piece if you can read the "Warning unit gets hot" label on it.

Technically you only have to undo the wiring connection to disable the Daytime Running Lights but I like to have a neat and tidy engine bay so I just removed the unit all together.

Here's the module you are going to be looking for. You can't miss it.

MOD: DRL Disable

I'd like to add to the "Driving Lights" disable thread in the 02+ Impreza forum:
http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122

Disconnecting the daytime running lights (DRL) by unplugging a connector behind the glovebox is what's necessary for HID installs:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...079&p=10997214

Pulling the connector under the hood as described in the ScoobyMods thread above does not do the trick.

MOD: DRL Disable

I'd like to add a post to the "Driving Lights" disable thread in the 02+ Impreza forum:

The method described (disconnecting DRL connector under the hood) does not work for HID installs. In that situation, you need to unplug a connector behind the glovebox as shown here:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...079&p=10997214
