Just say NO to Nylon!
When I picked up my car from UPRD, I was very concerned about the discrepancy I was seeing between my Autometer mechanical boost gauge and the numbers that my computer was seeing. I know that the WOLF EMS system is VERY accurate, but what use was a gauge if it couldn't even get close to approximating the actual boost my engine was getting?

The tuner shop was nice enough to hook up a second boost gauge to test my car, and I was surprised at the difference in speed, if nothing else! I consulted with my pal here in Arizona, and we came up with a fix that will make your Autometer boost gauge lightning fast. Take a look at this movie, and if your Autometer boost gauge is slower, then it might be time to do this quick and easy fix:

Boost Gauge Movie (http://members.cox.net/evander/boost.mpg) (~220k)

In the movie, I am barely tapping the throttle. Before I did this modification, the need would only move to -10 on the vacuum side. In essence, when you barely tap the throttle on your car, the gauge should go to zero almost immediately!

Essentially, you will need a length of standard 1/8" vacuum line to plumb from your vacuum source to your boost gauge. You will need about 6 inches of 3/8" line, 2 very small hose clamps that fit around the 3/8" line, and NAPA's Hose Connector part no. 715-1815.

Here is a picture of the finished product. You should now have very quick response from your boost gauge, and a lot more faith in it to boot.
