This is a very simple mod. all you need is a phillips screwdriver and a few minutes. There are only two screws to take off to remove the existing cover and reuse them to put the extension on. If you like you can remove the knock out in the floor of the top compartment so you can pass through your cell phone charging cord.. There is a power port in the lower section.

For me the arm rest is a little too far back for me to actually use for my elbow. I'm relatively short (5'6") so my seat is up close. It's a good storage area though.
