OK so it's not really a mod, but it is a good idea that is inexpensive and easy to do. I've put reflector tape on every new car I've owned. I like to put tape on the outer door jam, Hatch (or trunk) and under the hood. You never know you could be w/o a working battery one night or just opening a door with cars going by. I know the car has reflectors but it can't hurt to put a few more here and there. The tape, usually made by 3M, comes in a few different colours so it's not all that noticeable until you shine a light on it. And then it can be seen at quite a distance. It's surprising how far away you can see this stuff at night. I've used Red, Silver, White, and even Black tape. I've seen it in small rolls and even pre-cut shapes like circles and triangles. It all shines bright white at night, even the black tape, when a headlamp lights it up. Here's where I put it on my Forester.
