borla headers from a 02 Wrx"part # 17217" on a 04 STi
1.Disconnect the - cable from the battery terminal
2.on passenger side of car in the wheel well,Remove the plastic cover to gian acces the o2 sensor
3.remove 02 sensor
4.remove plastic from under front of car

5.remove the heat shields from driver and passenger sideflange.
6.unbolt the 3 flanges holding the header to the rest of the exhaust and remove the header and gaskets.

borla header installation
1.using the original gaskets and hardwear, place the borla header in
position and hand tightening the hardwear
2.using the original gasket and hardwear,secure the flange connecting
the header to the upipe hand tiht
.torque the flanges to the cylinders to 28 ft lbs and the flange to the
uppipe to 26ft lbs
4.install 02 sensor into the header and reconnect wire on top by strut
5.before starting car make sure to checl all wires and hoses for safe clearance from the header
6. Start car and check for leaks
7.ther maybe some smoke form header this is a protective oil based coating used in the manufacturing of the header

pas. heat sheid that has to be removed to get bolts

02"oxygen sensor" clip thathas to be oncliped

with heat sheild removed>> 3 bolts on flange that have to come off

3 bolts from driver side flange

2 bolts holding up-pipe and header

header took about 1 hour to install .got from subarustore.com for $350. O yeah got .5 psi's more of boost with the header installed
