OK before everyone starts into me on how "ghetto-style" this is, I would like to tell them I know, so don't bother to email me about it. :p I had everything laying around in the garage and decided to throw it in one day. It sounds far better than I expected it to and I didn't loose ANY cargo space.

I used a JL Audio 8W6 and a little 100 watt Alpine Amp. I wired the Amplifier into the stock 6 disk changer deck using the WRX wiring diagram (it is the same unit). I mounted the speaker to a 3/4" MDF baffle I made. We notched a portion of it for the wieght on the spare, and the wire to slide through. We didn't seal anything else. The performance would probably be better if you sealed the back of the spare tire somehow.

Here is a pic, remember no laughing

BTW the screws don't screw into anything. They just hold the baffle tight against the wheel. It can be removed in 2 minutes or so for access to the spare.

Regards,

Aaron
