Hey all,
After gleening alittle from just about every mod on this site, I thought I'd share one of mine that I haven't seen here.
I wanted to get more air to the front of the IC, as I noticed most of the debris that makes it into the scoop winds up in the back. And I couldn't justify the money for a new scoop plate with one of those baffles in it to re-direct the air down to the front of the IC, so for around $6 I made my own.
I won't bore you with gorey details. The metal used was 1/16" thick aluminum 1 1/2" wide. I wouldn't go smaller than this, because you won't grab any air then. Bigger would be ok, and it might be interesting to experiment with larger width deflectors (up to a point) to try and even out the flow.
This is the stock panel removed from the hood. It's a pretty painless operation to get it off.
