View Full Version : Subaru 4-Pot front brake upgrade

The only difference in the install is you don't need to get new rotors because they are the same size as the WRX the 4-pots fit on.

Here are some photo's of them on my Forester XT.

Note: The OEM Forester XT wheels will not clear the 4-Pot calipers . The OEM wheels are only 6.5" in width. They need to be at least 7" I understand. I didn't believe people when they said this so I fitted the caliper and tired the OEM wheel and darn if they weren't right. The wheel won't fit :( This only goes for the black 4-pots of old with the raised lettering. It seems the newer red 4-pots with the painted on lettering will fit under the OEM XT wheels.

Front Brake torque info for the normal OEM brakes, not the 4 pots but good info anyway .

Front Brake Calipers: Old = 11.5 lb/ea, New (4-pot) = 10.3 lb/ea
Front Dust Shield (removed): Both together = 0.5 lb
