However, the rear pads on the 04 Forester are not the same as the Legacy or Impreza so you will need to get the new pads listed in the above link. The 02 forester and earlier should be OK and I believe have the same pads with the wider tabs. They made the switch sometime early in late 02 or early 03 . Best to have a look if you have an 03 to see if you need new pads or not.
Note: People have a habit of calling this upgrade the Legacy H6 upgrade, not sure how that got started but after 2000 all Legacy and Outbacks H4 and H6 went to larger rear rotors.
