This is an under $100.00 mod to hold you untill you can afford a larger (STI) intercooler and hood scoop/diverter.
Fabrication skills are a must! All parts can be purchased at the local hardware store, except the fans and cords.
Fans and cords can be found by doing a search for muffin fans. Mine came from a surplus vendor in NY.

Parts used to mount fans were 1/2" aluminum angle, pop rivits, 1" aluminum flat stock (for front bracket),

To keep air born matter out of fans, I used fiberglass window screen, between hood scoop and diverter(held in with duct tape).
RTV could also be used as glue, if you take the time to let it dry.

This is where I located the on/off switch.
Ash tray was removed and power was tapped from accessory terminal.
A bonus is the switch is illuminated when lights are on.

This is a photo I ment to post with first message.
These fans are rated at 106 cfm at 3000 rpm.
When you hold your hand under the intercooler, a positive air flow can be felt.
As for performance increase... I would rather say: you keep the cool morning performance, in the hot afternoon.
Combating the "heat soak" can only be a good thing.
Also, most of my driving is city.
To date (5 months), I have had no problems with this reversable mod.
The corner wire-tie hold downs do wear thru, but if you open the hood enough, you will spot this. Front brackets hold set up in place.
Did I mention the whole set up is padded with 3/8" peel & stick foam (to prevent rattles).
