After spending countless hours trying to decide on the proper setup for a oil recovery system, and reviewing the cost of the available catch cans, I decided to install two separate recovery systems for the crankcase and the valve covers. This will give me the piece of mind that I haven't changed anything in the way of ventilation for the engine, and still reap the benefits.

Since I decided to keep the crankcase and the value cover recovery systems separate, I didn't want a bunch of gawdy tanks and hoses running everywhere. Air compressor filters work great by being small in size and easily mounted. The actual filters installed are the ones found here (http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54917) . Much thanx goes to these posts for insights to the equipment. I found mine at Lowe's however (our HD is pretty lame).

Here's a pic of the install completed. Hard to tell where the filters are, eh? Overall, the two filters, brass fittings, and rubber hose ran about $65. Still cheaper than a single catch can, and much less gawdy, IMHO.

Here's a closeup of two filters, with the cover behind the air filter removed (it's cover with the "Green" sticker on it from the first picture). You can really only see the one for the valve covers on the left side in front of the strut mount. The crankcase filter is down and back on the right, under the brake plumbing. You can see the top of the mounting brackets I made out of 1 3/4" X 1/16" aluminum bar.

You can also see some of the copper wool I put in the catch area of the filter to help condense the oil from the air flow.

The connections just tap into the lines the same way all of the other installs describe, with the exception that these are not tee'd together, but kept as separate systems.

'A' is the line in for the value cover filter. It comes off of the value cover lines in front of the IC.

'B' is the return to the intake

'C' is the line in for the crankcase filter.

'D' is the return to the intake. I turned the elbow around to face the back once I cut the hose.

It even looks faster with the two filters. :D
