Follow these easy steps to ensure a proper installation and a great finished product
* Open package and separate the light covers and read the instructions thoroughly.
* For cold weather application warm the light lens by turning on the light until the lens temperature reaches at least 60 degrees. Leave the StonGard Light protection in a room temperature until just prior to install. (60 degrees is optimum).
* Using glass cleaner, thoroughly clean and dry all the lens surface
* Separate the pair(s) of light protection and dry fit the StonGard Light to the lens prior to removing the backing paper. Make certain you are applying each piece to the correct light by test fitting it to the lens. Carefully remove the paper backing from the bottom inside corner of the StonGard Light, but do not remove all of it. Be sure not to touch the adhesive backing, it will leave fingerprints!!
* Holding the StonGard Light align the starting point, position StonGard Light to the lens, but don't let it make contact yet.
* Starting from the inside corner, press and smooth the StonGard Light to the lens with the blue squeegee that is included with your purchase. After you set the starting point continue removing the backing paper a section at a time and proceed to press and smooth the StonGard Light to the lens in and up and down motion. Make sure you follow the edges to ensure that they meet at the top and bottom for a secure and proper fit.
* To avoid air pockets, press down firmly. If they are present stop and pull the product up until the air pocket is removed and repeat pressing and smoothing the StonGard Light to the lens.
* Some lights have raised letters. Try to encapsulate the raised lettering with the StonGard Light material. This will prevent moisture and dirt from getting in between the two surfaces. Some lettering may be too close to the edges of the lens to encapsulate. In this case, after applying StonGard Light material turn on the lights to warm up and press firmly over the lettering to get the material to conform to the raised lettering.
* Make Sure to finish the installation by using a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges and pressing down firmly to insure a proper seal of the product.
Note: Small white blemishes are normal right after installation and will clear in a few days as the adhesive cures. You can help this process by driving with your lights on.
Do Not wash the vehicle or flush with water for 3 days after applying the StonGard Light
(rain is okay).
