The question comes up every once in a while as to why they are called inverted struts and where is the bump stop. This is why:

Standard alignment specs

some front end specs w/ torque data

Just a watch out. Rmemeber to transfer the rubber perch part from the old struts in the rear over to the new struts.

I came across this info on Kris's website that is very good. He was kind enough to let me repost some of it here. This is where this tid bit came from:

http://members.tripod.com/karguyzine/mod_springs.html

It's in regards to getting the hat properly seated on the spring in the right orientation:

----------
The most important detail. If you marked your parts correctly, you will not have this problem. I chose to seat the spring in the same position the factory spring landed, instead of orienting the top-hat correctly. This turned out to be a big mistake as the top hat was almost 180 degrees off. (It's almost un-noticeable when you re-assemble, so it's easier to do than you think...) Once on the car - the top hat crashed against the inside of the strut tower causing some scraping damage, and caused the springs to "click" when going over bumps. There should be NO sounds coming from your suspension when finished. I had to re-compress the spring, and turn the hat - to fix this problem. On the other side, it was only 20 degrees off, and was still causing noise. Learn from my mistake.
