Tools required:
14mm wrench


Jack up your car, secure it with the jack stands and take the wheel with an appropriate tool.

Use the 14mm wrench to remove the 2 14mm bolts that attach the brake caliper to the hub assembly. One on the top...

...and one on the bottom.

Remove the caliper, get it our of the way and zip tie it to the control arm to avoid tearing the break line.

Simply pull the rotor of the hub. It might not want to go right away, but few taps on opposite sides with a rubber hummer will get it to loosen up.

Now that the rotor is off, make sure there are no pebbles stuck anywhere in the dust shield.

Put the new rotor onto the hub.

Put the caliper back on and...

bolt it on with 2 14mm bolts.

Make sure everything is bolted on correctly.

Put the wheel back on and repeat the same on the other side.

Quick note on this thread. My 2001 RS coupe actually has 17 mm bolts holding on the calipers. Not sure how many other years/models are the same.

Also, the top bolt is far easier to reach if you have a 17 mm socket and a 9" extension.
