lower sti bar?

i was doing my group n tranny mount , tic front shifter linkage , and kartboy crossmember bushings today, and saw two threaded holes on the unibody run rails. they looked big like 16mm ish.

is this where the sti lower arm bar would bolt in?

niegh

true peaty , thats not what its for then cause the holes go into the body, not the subframe, allthough they are on the same rail of the unibody as the subframe they are rearward of the end of the subframe in the vacinity of the crossmember mounting points

What does installing this part do to the overall handling of the car?

Thanks,

It ties in the front subframe and prevents flexing. I have so many mods suspension wise it's really hard to say what effects what anymore to be honest. The whole is the sum of the parts and I have to say my suspension on the stiff side and I'm very happy with my set-up. My other car is a Miata and I have to say when I go from the Miata to the Forester I'm not disappointed at all.

I haven't had a chance to get a close look but I suspect the same reason the rear subframe has something similar. They may be used when the vehicle is put together to aid in alignment of some of the parts.

Question Lower Sti Bar?

Does it do basically the same thing that the lower front H-brace does for the WRX? I can't see where it could do anything different.

AFAIK it's function is similar but I suspect the H brace makes things even stiffer. harder to install though.

Thumbs up H-Brace

Peaty, I have the Cusco H-Brace and it was easy to install. About 40 minutes, including the lifting of my car. It works great!!
