it really only works if your flange surfaces are true to flat.

low-temp grease is what you use, not red high-temp. you want it to flash to carbon

also, have you ever used copper gasket spray? it's an amazing thing. 10 coats on each side, and bam sealed up a rusty corroded cast iron manifold to a rusty corroded 1970 exh port

Alright, I fixed it!!!

Tonight i took the headers out to fix the vibration issue. turned out there was about 1/16 in of clearance between the lowest tube and the frame rail, but the engine move probably 1/8in while driving.

So after the headers were out i took a grinder to frame, that was taking too long so i grabbed a BFH and took a few swings, and bam!! headers fit like a dream, no vibrations or rattling. I ended up doubling up the gasket to the up pipe, after taking it apart i wasn't satisfied with the seal the one gasket made.

All and all great deal, if anyone picks one of these up, be sure to watch out for clearance issues.

Yeah i'm going to keep an eye on it, at least its in a place that is easy to get to. I was hesitant to do it, but i wasn't satisfied with the single gasket thickness.

The seller's name is Sure Win Products.

http://myworld.ebay.com/surewinprodu...MEFSX:SELLERID

It seems like i got a little bit of an increase, I think i have a leaky gasket right now so that isn't helping me. i have yet to log with them on and get hard numbers. I'm not sure how much of an increase you can expect, i really jsut snagged these cause they were a hell of a deal and i thought i would try them out.

I had to take my headers off today so i thought i would update you guys with how they were holding up.

There is a bit of surface rust but i was able to lightly sand it off. There was one issue, the slip joints seem to leaking a little bit. there is some soot build up around them, but it doesn't seem to be much of a leak.

Few pics:

Some discoloration due to heat, and some surface rust.

Slip joint soot

I sanded them and sprayed some 2000* paint i bought for the down pipe, just to hold off the rust a bit.

The car got a touch louder, not much though. I noticed a bit of performance off the old butt dyno, i wasn't able to get a log off of it before i put the dp in, so i don't have any hard numbers.
