Smile TT And Boost Gauge

First off this site is really helpful. I have figured out how to get the Blitz TT wired in but Im not so sure about boost hookup. I want to run a Autometer boost gauge and the TT of the same line. So I figure I will tap into the BOV line and split it by the shifter for the gauge and the TT. Could someone tell me if this is going to work? I am also told that if you don’t use the special braded hose for the gauge it wont read properly. Is the suplied hose from Blitz good for the gauge and the TT. Can you guys let me know what you think?

Thanks

I just recently installed an Autometer mechanical boost gauge (sans TT) and the stock hardware that comes with it is a little retarded if you ask me.

My suggestion is to ditch the hose and fittings that came with the boost gauge, and go with a standard 3/16" vaccum hose T-fitting. Tap it into the BOV line about 3" down, which is where the stock Subaru boost gauge is tapped. Run standard 1/4" vaccum hose into the cockpit and from there split it with another T-fitting. To hook the 1/4" tubing up to the Autometer gauge, I had to use a short segment of 3/8" tubing, a hose clamp, and a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. Go here for details:

I had to do some searching for a shorter adapter then shown in the photos, since my boost gauge is mounted on the steering column I didn't have a lot of clearance between the back of the gauge pod and the stock gauge cluster bezel.

From this point you can run the other tube to the TT and hook it up as needed. Since I don't have the TT, I am not sure if it needs any special hardware or hoses, but if it only needs an intake manifold pressure reading, the 1/4" hose should work just fine.

Hope this helps...
